Here's the bare bones version of a principle that can (and often does) pop up in the opening and middle game. Its significance lies in realm of combinations and not so much in the fact that white has a winning endgame here. Note that 1.d3b5??-d5b3x, 2.b5d7x fails because black then has access to the cornersquare.
