Initial position
  • The game starts with an initial position as displayed on the left, base 6, 8 or 10.
  • A 'stack' consists of one or more like coloured pieces.
  • A 'move' consists of moving a stack a determined number of spaces. If it lands on an opponent's stack it removes it from the board and replaces it by the moving stack. Otherwise it just lands on an empty square or a like coloured stack.
  • The determined number of orthogonal steps is one more than the number of orthogonally adjacent stacks, regardless of colour.
  • The determined number of diagonal steps is one more than the number of diagonally adjacent stacks, regardless of colour.
  • Either move must be done in a straight line and players must move one stack per turn so it's one or the other.
  • Stacks may split in the process and squares are counted regardless of whether they are vacant or occupied.
  • Goal: The players' goal is to unite all their pieces regardless of stack-height in one orthogonally connected group that must outlast their opponent's next move. If on the next move the opponent can split it, the game goes on.
  • Draws: If, after one player unites his pieces, the opponent on the subsequent turn also unites his pieces, then the game is won by the player with the larger group (counting stacks as one). If both groups are of equal size then the game is a draw.
If a move simultaneously unites a player's group and the opponent's group, then the same applies: the larger group wins and equal groups draw.
